What Spamhaus Actually Checks
It evaluates the reputation of your sending domain or IP itself, based on factors like spam complaint volume, sudden sending spikes, authentication configuration (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and known abuse history.
This means a Spamhaus listing directly affects the domain or IP it's tied to; there's no separation like there is with SURBL. If your sending domain is listed, that domain's deliverability is impacted regardless of what's in your email content.

Verify Your Domain Listing
Check whether your domain or IP is listed using Spamhaus's own lookup tool or another reputable blacklist checker.
Submit a Delisting Request
Go to Spamhaus' website and enter the domain or IP address.
Review the listing details shown, including which list (DBL or SBL) it appears on and why it was listed.
Click "More Info" under the listing reason to see whether the domain is eligible for self-service removal and to view any additional context about the listing.
Check the box confirming "I have read all the information relating to this listing and understand that re-listing may occur if I haven't fully resolved these issues," then click "Next Steps".
Complete the required details on the form.
Submit the request.
Important Note: Spamhaus will review your request and verify that the domain no longer poses a threat. Most requests are answered within 24 hours, but this depends on whether the issue has been fully resolved. Submitting a removal request does not guarantee removal.
